- Sensory systems with a focus on the mammalian retina
- Molecular composition and function of cilia with a focus on sensory neurons
- Mechanisms of cilia formation, maintenance, degeneration and the participation in adaptation processes with a focus on the connecting cilia in photoreceptors
- Human cornea and the cell interactions between stem cells and their microenvironment in the limbal Epithelium
